Rainy day activities
As beautiful as it is in North Yorkshire, we know that the weather can be unpredictable at times. If the skies turn grey during your visit to Pickering, we have lots of suggestions for rainy day activities and things to do.

Learn about the rich history of our stunning market town in the North York Moors. With more than 50,000 objects in their collection, hands-on exhibitions, and historic shops to explore, the Beck Isle Museum is fun for the whole family.
Castle Howard
For more than 300 years, the Howard family has called Castle Howard home. Its beautiful interiors are simply stunning, featuring world-renowned art collections. Their on-site cafés and restaurants are full of locally produced treats too for you to enjoy during your visit.

Thrill seekers are not to be deterred by the weather! Flamingo Land is full of exhilarating rides and an award-winning zoo. They also host fantastic events throughout the year, so be sure to check their schedule for your visit, regardless of the weather.
Eden Camp

SEA LIFE Scarborough
Get up close to the marine animals that share our home in North Yorkshire at SEA LIFE Scarborough. Discover sharks, rays, penguins, otters, and walk through their incredible ocean tunnel. Their seal hospital helps rehabilitate over 30 injured seal pups each year, releasing them back into the ocean when they are healed.
Ryedale Folk Museum
With incredible walk-in exhibits covering hundreds of years of local history, the Ryedale Folk Museum is a must visit. Immerse yourself in a Medieval manor house and Iron-Age roundhouse, and delight in their yearly-exhibition, which focuses on historic food in 2025.
We hope to have given you some rainy day activities if the weather should turn during your visit to Black Bull Caravan Park. If you need any more recommendations, don’t hesitate to ask during your stay.
